Chapter 8

Kevin had a dream

There were lots of people in a huge pile, all holding on to each other very tightly so they looked like a single entity. They were all complaining about how others were holding themselves down, that they individually were poor little people who have no power, and the problem was that others were holding them back. I went up to them and said "You are all holding on to each other, just let go of each other and you will be free." They all snarled at me saying I was "stupid", "just a chicken" and "what would I know". I noticed a man who was standing on his own, with a smile on his face like a cunning fox. He came over and started agreeing with the people and saying that the real problem was with everyone else and not the people individually. The people liked this, and they held on to each other even harder. I stated getting angry with the man and told him to tell the truth to the people, then the man told the people that I was their enemy, and they believed him. I felt sad and had to fly away. Then I woke up. Sometimes you have to "pick your battles" - meaning that it is good to "win" and bad to "lose", so choose the things you will win at. Choose things that will challenge you, not break your heart. Kevin felt happier and more determined now, so the dream didn't affect him, he learned from it.
